Refined functionality and ingenious craftsmanship make this coffee table an outstanding and unmistakable icon of Mid-Century Modern design! Unpretentious, simple and yet refined!
Designer Gerd Lange was miles ahead of his time when he created this ready-to-assemble coffee table as part of the "Farmer" series for the visionary manufacturer Bofinger in Germany in the mid-60's.
Consisting of solid wooden slats, all interlocking at right angles, the table can be easily assembled and disassembled within minutes. Despite its modular design, the table has remained in good sturdy condition with only few signs of its age and use - a testament to Lange's skills as a master of design.
Gerd Lange's influence on the world of furniture design cannot be overstated, having worked with such reputable manufacturers as Drabert, Thonet, DeSede and Wogg and some his work can be viewed at the Guggenheim Museum and at Rockefeller Center in New York.
