Pair of Dragon-Shaped Bases in Brass for Coffee Table, Mid-Century Modern
Pair of Dragon-Shaped Bases in Brass for Coffee Table, Mid-Century Modern
We found these extravagant table legs in the shape of brass dragons in Munich and believe they probably hail from France or Italy in the 1970's.
Despite extensive research we were unable to identify the maker, but in their style they are very close to the works of Alain Chervet (know for his Ibex rams head tables) or indeed to the designs of the illustrious New York based P.E. Guerin.
The handcrafted cast brass dragons are delicate in their design and have maintained their shine throughout the years. Two elegantly rounded arms sit on each dragon head to support the table tops.
This pair of dragons would be just at home in a house furnished with antiques as they would be in a Hollywood Regency residence. No caves required.
Please note:
While we also acquired the original table top, due to its weight of 30+ kg (66 lbs) this is not included in this offering! Glass tops can be easily purchased from your local glazier or online.
For European customers: please reach out to us if you would like the table top included and we may be able provide you with a revised quote.
