Delicately hand-crafted and hand-painted in orange and brown tones, these wall lights truly embody the aesthetic of mid-century modern studio pottery - whether they are hung individually or as an interconnected set with different arrangement options.
The lights were designed by Traudl Brunnquell, the award-winning director of design at Brunnquell GmbH in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, from the 1961 till 1978.
A single light bulb forms the center of a square middle section which is extended by two smaller sections along a central axis. As the extensions are exactly half the length of the center block an alethically pleasing symmetry is achieved.
The organically shaped decorations on the front side, along with the reflective and popping orange and brown glaze soften the appearance and turn these wall lights from brutalist blocks into West-German studio art.
All four are in very good condition though one light has a chipped end on the backside (please refer to photos).
The lights are currently wired with a European set-up for E17 lightbulbs, but can be easily re-wired for a US set-up. By design there are little gaps on the back of each side to allow the lights to be connected to each other.
We highly recommend using gold mirrored lightbulbs to ensure these wall lights shine at their best!

With a lifetime of stories behind them, our vintage design items come with a bit of character.
Like the best of us, they may have picked up some scratches and scuff marks, acquired patina, and that original shine may have faded a little. And like with most of us, the internal struggles are not always visible to the outside world.
Our second-hand items may not fulfil state-of-the art safety standards and codes in your region. Inner faults may exist that were missed by us. Please always consult with a certified professional before installing any electrical items.
