This very large mid-century modern palm tree floor lamp has a sculptural quality, that elevates it from playful light fixture to tropical statement piece!

Both the base and the trunk are tightly wrapped in pencil reed rattan, which gives the lamp a spiralling textured pattern. The trunk is leaning slightly to one side by design emulating a tree swaying in the wind.

Three wicker coconuts double as shades for the light bulbs and cast a warm ambient light. The palm leaves drape from the trunk and can be arranged individually - making it a customizable light fixture for tighter corners.

Often attributed to the Mexican designer Mario Lopez Torres, celebrated for his wicker furniture and animals, we believe this floor lamp to actually hails from Italy or France some time in the late 60's or early 70's.

In very good condition with only small signs of its age and use, this floor lamp comes with its original wiring for European voltage and light bulbs and is operated by an inline cord switch.

Thanks to the organic materials used, this floor lamp will work with a wide range of interior styles and is suitable of settings, form sun nooks and conservatories to spa and pool areas to living and dining rooms.
