Geometrically framed and suspended on a leather strap, this wall mirror truly "reflects" the elegance inherent in 1950's Italian design!
The design takes a playful approach to contrasts, opposites and symmetry, whereby the curved sides of the mirror are flanked by six angled walnut boards. This contrast is reversed by the straight top and bottom edges of the mirror over which two curved brass bands brace the frame and are themselves mirror images of each other.
The stamp on the backside of the mirror probably reads "SUCC VETRERIA ANDREINI RAVENNA"
In the 1950s, mirror production in Ravenna, Italy, was characterized by a mix of specialized design studios and small-to-medium industrial glass processing workshops and the Vetreria Andreini (Andreini glassworks) would have been one of them - alas, we could not find any further information on this particular maker.
The mirror is in good condition with small signs of its age and use. On the lower end the mirror glass is showing some desilvering and the brass details have acquired some patina over the years. The leather mounting band was replaced recently and is in very good condition.
This well designed and most decorative wall mirror is ideal for entryways, living rooms, and narrow hallways to boost light and create the illusion of space!

With a lifetime of stories behind them, our vintage design items come with a bit of character.
Like the best of us, they may have picked up some scratches and scuff marks, acquired patina, and that original shine may have faded a little. And like with most of us, the internal struggles are not always visible to the outside world.
Our second-hand items may not fulfil state-of-the art safety standards and codes in your region. Inner faults may exist that were missed by us. Please always consult with a certified professional before installing any electrical items.
