WMF Paul Haustein Vase (blue)

PRICE ON RQUEST ONLY: Click here for a custom QUOTE

Designed by Paul Haustein between 1920 and 1930 this original IKORA vase was made by the distinguished German copper and silver metalware manufacturer WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik)

The metal vase has a patinated brass body with a beautiful "Tiffany" green finish and is decorated with stylized trailing leaves very much in the style of Asian Art Deco motives popular at the time.

This vase is in exceptionally good condition and is marked and stamped WMF IKORA on the base.

Still producing high quality metal & silverware to this day, WMF is steeped in tradition with history going back 170 years and is probably one of Germany's most recognized brands.

The German designer Paul Haustein was a "versatile master of decorative arts" and worked prestigious companies like Vereinigte Werkstätten in Munich as well as for WMF. His works are in the collections of the Met and MoMA and at auctions his IKORA designs for WMF continue to be sought after lots.

With a lifetime of stories behind them, our vintage design items come with a bit of character.
Like the best of us, they may have picked up some scratches and scuff marks, acquired patina, and that original shine may have faded a little. And like with most of us, the internal struggles are not always visible to the outside world.
Our second-hand items may not fulfil state-of-the art safety standards and codes in your region. Inner faults may exist that were missed by us. Please always consult with a certified professional before installing any electrical items.
